About EditPDFLocally

EditPDFLocally is a set of small, focused PDF tools — merge, split, delete, extract, reorder, rotate, page numbers, flatten, compress — with one unusual property: your files never leave your device. There is no upload step, because there is no server to upload to. The editing engine ships to your browser as code and does the work right there.

Why build another PDF site?

Because of what PDF editing actually involves. Look at any list of things people do with these tools: contracts, court filings, medical records, bank statements, HR paperwork. The mainstream sites process all of it server-side — your document goes up, sits in a queue under a retention policy you’ve never read, and comes back edited. For the most sensitive category of files most people handle, that’s a strange default. Browsers have been capable of doing this work locally for years; someone just has to build the tools that way, and then not ruin it with upsells.

The promises

Sustainability, honestly

The site may eventually carry a few clearly-marked ads on the page (never inside the tool flow, and ads can’t see your documents — nothing here can). That’s the whole business model: useful free tools, cheap to run because your device does the work, paid for by the page around them if traffic ever justifies it.

Who makes this

An independent maker who builds small privacy-first browser tools — this site is one of a small family, each doing one job properly. Bugs, requests and “my court rejected this file” stories are genuinely welcome: hello@editpdflocally.com.
