That last part is the detail most people get burned by: the rotate button in a PDF viewer usually rotates your view, not the document. It looks fixed until a colleague opens the same file sideways. Mixed-orientation scans are the normal case
Batch-fed paper rarely comes out uniform: a landscape table in a portrait report, one sheet fed backwards, a double-sided page flipped head-to-toe. That’s why this tool works per page — click the two offenders, hit 180°, done. The rotation adds to whatever each page already had, so pages that were already correct stay correct.
Rotation here is lossless. It flips a stored flag rather than re-rendering pixels, so a 600 DPI scan stays a 600 DPI scan and the file size barely changes.
Good to know
- Not sure which way is “left”? Watch the thumbnails — they rotate live before you commit, and “Start over” undoes everything.
- If text looks mirrored rather than rotated, the scan itself was mirrored — that needs re-scanning; no rotation can fix a mirror image.
Frequently asked questions
Why does my PDF open sideways even after I rotated it in my reader?
Because the reader rotated your view, not the file — the setting lived in that app on that computer. This tool writes the rotation into each page’s stored orientation, which every standards-compliant viewer respects.
Does rotating reduce quality or grow the file?
Neither. PDF pages carry a rotation property; changing it doesn’t touch the page content at all. The output is byte-for-byte the same content with a different orientation flag, so quality and size are preserved.
Can I rotate just one page in a large document?
Yes — click that page’s thumbnail so it’s the only one selected, choose the angle, save. Everything else passes through untouched.
