Combine two PDFs into one

The two-file merge is the everyday case: cover letter + résumé, invoice + timesheet, signed page + contract body, ID front + ID back. Drop both files below, make sure the right one is on top, and download one combined PDF.

No account, no watermark, no “2 of 2 free merges today”. The work runs in your browser — which you can verify: open DevTools → Network while merging and watch nothing leave the page.

How it works

  1. Drop both PDFs into the box (together or one after the other).
  2. Check the order — the top card becomes the front of the combined file; swap with ↑ ↓.
  3. Click “Merge 2 PDFs”.
  4. Download the single combined file.

Job applications: the classic two-file merge

Application portals that accept “one PDF only” are the most common reason two files need to become one. Merge the cover letter ahead of the résumé, download, and check the result opens with the letter — recruiters see pages in file order, not filename order.

For scanned two-sided documents (odd pages in one file, even pages in another), straight concatenation is the wrong shape — you want pages interleaved. That’s the alternate & mix preset, which appears as an option on this page too the moment two files are loaded.

Frequently asked questions

Both my files are scans. Will quality drop?

No — pages are copied, not re-rendered. Scans keep their exact resolution. If the combined file is too big to email afterwards, run it through the compressor, where the quality trade-off is explicit and yours to choose.

Can I merge a Word document with a PDF?

Not directly — this tool combines PDFs. Export the Word file to PDF first (File → Save As → PDF), then merge the two PDFs here.

Which file should come first?

Whatever the reader should see first: cover letter before résumé, summary before detail, newest statement before oldest — or follow the portal’s stated requirement if there is one.
