The odd-page blank, explained
Duplex scanners image both sides of every sheet. Feed them an odd number of printed sides and the back of the final sheet — blank — becomes your last PDF page. It’s the single most common reason people search for this page, and the preset removes it in one motion.
Several trailing pages to cut? Edit the range: 9-last removes everything from page 9 on, however long the file is. The last keyword saves you opening the document to count.
Good to know
- Check the thumbnail before saving — “blank” pages sometimes carry a stray staple shadow or page number you’ll want to keep for the record.
- Cutting a document into “everything before X” and “X onward” is a job for split with ranges, not repeated deletes.
Frequently asked questions
How do I remove several blank pages scattered through the file?
Use the thumbnails — blanks are obvious at a glance. Click each one (they mark red) and delete them all in a single save. The range box shows the list as you click, e.g. “4, 9, 12”.
Does “last” still work if I don’t know the page count?
Yes — that’s the point of the keyword. It resolves to the actual final page of whatever document you drop, so this preset page works without ever opening the file to count pages.
Can I undo after saving?
Your original is never modified, so “undo” is simply: use the original again. The download is a separate, edited copy.
